Draper Temple Openhouse

These were pictures Dan took of us going over to the Temple. We met at a Church and then we were shuttled by bus over to the temple. It was really neat to be able to go with the kids and let them see how beautiful it is inside. There was water and cookies afterwards! What more could you ask for.

The Reason for the Season

This year at Dan's Family Christmas Party we had the kid's act out the Nativity. It was really fun since we have so many cousins. Everyone was included and was able to have a little part it acting it out.

First Christmas Party of 2008

I'm gettin nuttin for Christmas! Mommy and Daddy are Mad... I'm gettin nuttin for Christmas cause I ain't been nuttin but bad! NOT REALLY but this song reminds me of my own childhood. Wondering if I had been good enough to not get a lump of coal.

We had some Birthdays Shout Hurray!

Dan and Megan both celebrated their Birthdays last month. Megans excited to be another year older, and needless to say I think Dan is not too excited to be another year older, but so it goes. We all had alot of fun enjoying their Birthdays with them.

Boo! to You...

Ok so I've been a bit of a slacker on getting my posts done this month. October has flown by and it will soon be November. You know what they say, as soon as Halloween is over it may as well be the new year because the Holidays just seem to go by so fast. So I'll quickly do a little catching up. October 17th we went to Boise to have a family Halloween party. Dan's side of the family always gets pretty into Halloween. I think that the Adults love it just as much or more than the kids do. It was really fun for all of us to spend time together.

More Pictures of Nikki's cheer clinic

"Falling" Behind

I can't believe how fast time seems to be flying by right now. I haven't posted in a while and need to catch up a little. My days seem to be kind of mushed together, with school and kids activities, church, etc. I'm really happy though and having alot of fun. ( I didn't say its not hard balancing everything, but I'm learning alot.) We had spirit week at school last week. Tuesday was P.J. day, Wednesday was 80's day, Thursday was crazy hair day, Friday crazy socks and hat day, and Saturday was Hawaiian day. I dressed up the first three days. 80's day was alot of fun. Talk about a major flashback. It's really weird being old enough to have lived through it and then have people dressing up for it. Crazy hair day was fun, and slightly embarrassing. Just invision CindyLou Hoo and you've got the idea of my hair last Thursday. I had to lower the seat all the way down and my hair still was tall enough to touch the ceiling in the car. Complete with a red bow on top. I wish I had gotten a picture because I actually won that day. This last week Nikki had a cheer clinic at Timp. High School and then performed at the football game Friday night she and Kiaya had alot of fun doing it together and Trixy was nice enough to get Nikki to and from practice all week so that she was able to go. So here we are watching conference and enjoying being inside because of an incredibly rainy and wet night. Life is Good and I'm ready to dig in and start another week of school 152 hours of beauty school and only 1,848 hours to go! ;]

Motivation To Exercise

Dan decided a few months ago that setting a goal would help him stay motivated to exercise. After hiking Mount Timp. last year, I vowed that it was something I would never do again because I was in so much pain when we finally got back to the trail entrance. Of course Dan's goal was to hike Mount Timp. a second time and also do it faster than last year. I continued to work out, but didn't really know if I wanted to do it or not. When it got right down to it though, I wasn't about to have him go without me. We left Friday morning a little after 6:00 am and then left the trail entrance at 7:00 am. We reached the summit at 11:00 am and then left to go back just before 12 noon. We got back to our car at 3:15 pm, which was way before we anticipated. A little sore, but not nearly as bad as last year. Preparation is key! It was more beautiful than I remembered, maybe for several reasons. There seemed to be more plants and wild flowers this year, and not being in pain every single step of the way makes it much easier to concentrate on the scenery. Who knows . . . , I may even do it again next year.

First Day Back to School

The girls and I have had a really fun summer, but I was pretty excited to get back to some sort of a schedule and they were excited to see friends. This morning they were up pretty early. I know the first day excitement will wear off quickly, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

July Activities

These are pictures from our family reunion hike that we did in Ogden. It was only an hour up and an hour back, but it was alot for the little ones. The waterfall was worth the effort though.

This was my Birthday cake. mmm.... Costco cheesecake topped with Cherries. My favorite!

Time is Flying, must be having fun!

Well I need to catch up, but this month has been alot of fun and has gone by so fast. It started of course with the fourth of July, and then Dan and I went to Zermatt in Midway for an overnight retreat for his work. Then next monday the 14th I celebrated my 33rd Birthday, and then this last weekend we had the Stimpson family reunion followed by our 13th wedding Anniversary. This will all be finished up by celebrating the 24th of July tomorrow. Wow! That was July 2008 in a nutshell. I'll post some pictures soon.

Summer Time

I decided I'd better do a quick catch up post of things that we have been up to for the past few weeks. I can't believe that we are close to the end of June already. We are having alot of fun and keeping busy. The end of school was celebrated with the dance festival and Allison performed her spring spectacular the same night for clogging, Nikki had her Birthday party on the 6th of June, we celebrated Fathers day with a life size hulk cut-out, and the girls are now in their second week of swimming lessons. And we still have alot of summer left!

Memorial Day Weekend

This is something to me that is amazing. I never thought my little hometown would ever get a temple. With another temple only 30 minutes away, and so many other places in the world that are still waiting for a temple, I was surprised and elated when I found out that Rexburg would be getting there own temple. This weekend we were in the area for memorial day and we decided to get a closer look. So beautiful!!
